Best food we’ve had so far in Pemuteran! So much food we’ve had so far is catering to westerners, but this is the real deal! Real Balinese home cooking with great technique to bring it to the next level. Everything is so fresh and flavorful! Having lived in Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand, I have learned to trust I will find good food if I go to the warung with the longest queue or the full seating area, but in this case I was wrong. We passed this place a few times before we gave it a try and our only regret is not trying it sooner. We had dinner at the busy warung right across from this one, thinking that one must be better because it was always full, but we were wrong! That food was good too, but this one wins first place for Pemuteran! This place is next level. We had 2 appetizers Bruschetta and Fried Calamari the bruschetta was very fresh and flavorful! The calamari batter was so delicious! Very light tasting and perfectly crisp! Our mains were Iga Bakar (Balinese grilled pork ribs) and Satay Lilit (fish satay), and once we got those dishes and realized we were at the best restaurant so far in Pemuteran with the most authentic cuisines, we put in an additional order for the Garlic Chili Prawn! :) Iga Bakar was perfectly spiced and fall off the bone tender! The satay lilit had all the spices rubbed into it before it was even grilled! Very flavorful! The garlic chili prawn— oh man. The prawn was butterflied still leaving the head for maximum flavor, perfectly cooked, dripping with flavor. They were all on a bed of the most fragrant, lively, tomatoes, garlic, lemongrass, chilies— so good! All the flavors blended perfectly. Unfortunately we can’t say anything about dessert because that was a lot of food for two people, but we just couldn’t resist trying everything that caught our fancy once we tasted how good our first dish was. When we come back we definitely want to try to the Ayam Betutu and Ikam Bakar! Do not miss out on this amazing restaurant. Even if there is no one else there, do not let that fool you. Walk in. You will be so glad you did! We certainly are!!
