Kedai Rukun Yakarta offers a delightful array of Javanese comfort foods like Mangut Lele, Garang Asem, and Oseng Mercon. We tried the Mangut Lele, which was delicious, boasting a rich, flavorful taste with a satisfying hint of gurih from the coconut milk. The Garang Asem (interestingly spelled as "Harang Asem" on their menu) was also a standout, with its sour broth and tender chicken that melted in your mouth. However, the Ndog Kriwil and Tempe were just ok—too oily for our liking. We also tried the Tape Susu, which they source directly from Yogyakarta, adding a touch of authenticity to the experience. Overall, Kedai Rukun Yakarta offers some standout dishes that capture the essence of Javanese cuisine, though there is room for improvement in certain areas.
