I have made a reservation three weeks in advance before my upcoming stay at Kempinski Apurva resort, to my disappointment the reservations website changed the date of my booking. To my surprise I got a message asking whether I was attending the lunch on the 22nd of November. The issue was quickly resolved, and my lunch moved to the actual date of my stay at the resort. I had a delightful dining experience at Koral on December 9th. Our party of four enjoyed the flexibility to order different set menus, a rarity in fine dining. Koral's reasonable prices, coupled with an aquarium view, set it apart from other high-end establishments. Standout dishes included lobster, steak, canapés, and desserts. The chef received my compliments for the delicious focaccia tomato bread. Service was excellent, with attentive staff. For improvement, offering dessert options to switch and a sides menu (perhaps French fries or more vegetables) would be welcomed. While my steak supposedly came with foie gras, the portion was so small it hardly warranted mention. I understand that I chose for the lunch service, however being seated next to a table of children was quite annoying. In the future perhaps seat tables of children in one area and block off the other from children if possible. Despite these minor points, I look forward to returning to Koral in the new year. When booking for Koral online, please double check the booking as mine went through to a different date. It is quite an issue considering that you have to pay a handsome deposit.
