Absolutely delicious home-cooked Balinese food in their open kitchen and roadside BBQ. Love the simple, local ambience. The food tasted incredible and the place itself is such an oasis of authenticity in the heart of Seminyak / Jln Petitenget. We had lemongrass shredded chicken, grilled garlic fish (ordered a medium for 2 people but next time we will be going back for the XL fish - it was THAT good) and stir fried water spinach, one of my all time faves. The plain rice was also steamed perfectly. The main gripe - and one that we were willing to overlook given how outstanding the food was - was that the food took almighty ages to arrive. And when it did it arrived one at a time - first the spinach, half an hour later the fish, half an hour later the grilled chicken and rice (after a few reminders). A meal that should have been eaten all together ended up being eaten one at a time which kind of spoiled the experience for me. Nevertheless, we will still come back because the food was THAT good. And we kind of understand, that given it isn’t a large commercial kitchen, things will take longer to be ready - but it shouldn’t take one 2 hours to complete an entire meal. Other downsides include- the servings are quite small for the western prices charged. Just don’t come if you’re not in a hurry and you don’t have an entire evening to while away…
