Santanera is undoubtedly the best restaurant in Canggu, likely in the whole of Bali. The venue itself is stylish, large but cosy and the staff are wonderfully accommodating. Let’s be honest though, the food is the real star here. Chefs Andres and German have executed what many others fail to do - a well balanced, creative and thoughtful menu that takes you from delicious morsels such as the yellowfin tuna & salmon roe tartelette to more filling dishes like the char-grilled octopus. Dessert (the current special, strawberry mille feuille is phenomenal) and cocktails (do yourself a favour and order the ambrosia) are equally amazing. I’ve already visited more times than I care to admit and will be back for more. A must visit on any visit to Bali
