Food was fine, edible, borderline enjoyable. We ordered Tengkleng Rica, which tasted mre like Tongseng, whereas the Tongseng we ordered resembles more closely to Asem-asem. The OG Tengkleng was spot on though. Beverage was good too. We ordered Wedang Uwuh, and Teh Poci. My only peeves was the rock sugar they came with, it wasn't the pale yellow traditional central Java rock sugar I came to love, instead they used white rock sugar which was different in taste and character. Service was great, lovely and attentive servers. Nothing to complain. Atmosphere was a bit too dusty it wasn't as clean as I would like. Decor was a bit to rustic for me. The walls were covered with tacky and witty quotes, sly rhetoric facts and parodies of olden Javanese pop culture, all of which was entertaining for the first 10 minutes or so. Mosquitos were with us the whole stay though.
