Went to Meatsmith to check out this popular steakhouse out. Ordered the Mother of All Platers (2.950k for 5 persons) to satisfy the big crowd. It consists of beef brisket spring rolls, grilled lobster and beef hot dog as appetizers, accompanied with the main course of beef brisket, jerk chicken chop, beef short ribs and chef's special cut (we got ribeye that day). The highlight of the appetizers is the beef hot dog. The sausage was very well made and the proportion of the bread, the sauce and the hot dog was perfect. The spring rolls, that tasted like sosis solo, was too sweet for my liking. While the grilled lobster wasn't as fresh as I expected. While the highlight of the meat is the ribeye (chef's special). The temperature was perfectly medium rare. The ribeye was tender and perfectly seasoned too. The short ribs was very tender, a bit too tender for my liking. But if you prefer to have your meat real meaty, maybe it's not for you. The jerk chicken chop was a great addition because it freshen your palate. We also got some side dishes to go with the meat. We got 5 sauces, I don't really remember the sauces' names, but what I remember they didn't have savoury sauce. The sauces were all either sweet or sour. We also got corn pureé, sweet potato pureé and cornbread. Which were all sweet too. And unfortunately they put the pureés beneath the meats, which made the bottom of the meat a bit soggy and contaminated with the sweetness. I was looking for a savoury companion and I didn't get any. It was a let down. For that point of price I feel the platter didn't really deliver. Yes there were some highlight, but after tasting all the elements, I feel the downside was too much. Maybe next time, I will just order the ribeye and the jerk chicken.
